The songs used for the dances were ‘A Million Ways to Live”. This Dance Concert was a way to show parents all the dance skills their children had learned throughout the year. “I was satisfied,” said Sana Qadeer, a Dance I student. “I was proud.”

Dance is not only just a way to fulfill a PE or Fine Arts requirement. For some students, it may become a career. “We have a lot of units that it [dance] covers in just one year. You learn a lot in that class,” said AriaMakan, also a Dance I student.

“Before I just thought that dance was a cool thing to do. And it was fun,” said Sana, “But now I feel like I have more opportunities.”

Dance provides students with opportunities. It also helps them overcome fear of performing in front of people and builds confidence. After a month of practice, the dancers earned a most deserved ovation.
