When Coca-Cola first came out it was the heart and soul of the soda committee but as soon as
Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and Mr. Pibb came out, Coke was left behind. Brand director, Kate Carpenter, believes that it is a way to encourage customers who are seeking more variety in a drink to stick with Coke rather than picking up a different soda.

The new flavor produced by Coca-Cola is called Orange Vanilla giving it a sweet and creamy
finish. The company currently has six flavor offers coming in Coke, Diet Coke, Vanilla Coke, Diet Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke, and Diet Cherry Coke. Since the skyrocketing launch of Diet Cherry Coke the new flavor (Orange Vanilla) will also come in the diet/sugar free options.

Although this idea seems like it could be a big hit the consumers have rejected recent flavors in
the past such as raspberry, lemon, and ginger flavored Coca-Cola. This is the first addition to Coca-Cola since 2007 and it is hoped to be a top seller throughout the world in 2020. However in 1985 Coca-Cola made a drastic change to their Coke flavor and people were showing resistance so the company quickly changed back to its original flavor. Orange Vanilla on the other hand is projected to launch during the summer of 2019 and fly out of stores as a new top flavor. With many rejected flavors in the past Carpenter says, “This is the most unique and flavorful flavor we have ever came up with.”

“Coca-Cola has always been my favorite drink and I can’t wait until this flavor comes out. I am
going to be the first one in line to get a taste.” – Joshua Martinez.

As Coca-Cola attempts to make a statement with Orange Vanilla it is sure the break they need to
be back on top again.
