NSHS Day of The Dead Fundraiser

National Spanish Honor Society had a fundraiser on Día De los Muertos.

Members are encouraged to take part in the set-up of the fundraisers.

The club celebrated this Latino holiday on Nov. 1 by selling Mexican cokes and a traditional corn dish.

Students dropped by to participate and earn their hours. They are also expected to facilitate some of the troubles that arise.

“There are certain bumps we need to overcome, such as permits, what days we can do the fundraiser on, and what we can sell.” Wilmer Contanzo said, a member of NSHS.

The money that is raised goes back into the club and their charity trips.

This year it is to be used on a field trip to the Ronald McDonald House Charity, or the Bay Area Turning Point social service organization, according to Señora Guevara the sponsor of NSHS.

The requirements to join this club are as follows:

  • Must be in Spanish 3 (at least)
  • 90 grade in the class
  • 80 grade average overall (quarter/semester)
