Aldine ISD Police Officer Injured in Hit and Run Accident

In West Montgomery, an 18-year veteran Aldine ISD police officer was injured in a hit and run accident.

According to recent studies,  nearly 700,000 hit and run crashes occur every year throughout the state of Texas, and over 2,000 people are killed annually.

Texas has the eighth highest number of hit and run accidents in the United States.

The crash occurred on Feb. 23 around 3:45 a.m.

The vehicle involved with the crash is said to be a black newer model Chevrolet Camaro.

Deputies reported that the vehicle intentionally hit the officer’s patrol car and the impact of the crash caused the officer to ram into a concrete wall.

The officer received minor injuries and the driver of the Camaro fled the scene. Police are still trying to identify and search for the driver.
