The Christmas Committee (ChristCo) has been planning the details to their annual winter formal.

“ChristCo is a Christmas organization. We try to incorporate a dance every year,” Lauren Matus

said. “Each girl is required to raise money for the dance.”

The dance is ticketed but, the committee tries to raise enough money, so students don’t have to
pay an entry fee.

The winter formal is not sponsored by the school and therefore students are encouraged to buy
tickets.

“I think because of it being Christmas related, and there’s already homecoming and prom,” Lauren
Matus said.

According to Lauren, ever since the Christmas committee realized that there wasn’t anything
special at the school for the holidays, they began holding the winter formal.

“Winter Formal is honestly the best because it’s a more student lead environment,” Lauren
Matus said.

Besides the Winter formal the committee doesn’t host any other event.

The dance is always in Galveston and student ID’s aren’t required for the dance.

The dance will take place on Dec. 20.
