It has been nearly two weeks since Russia started its invasion on Ukraine. Since then, nearly the entire world has voiced its support for Ukraine.

NATO announced that it “condemns in the strongest possible terms” Russia’s invasion. They also demanded Russia withdraw troops from Ukraine immediately.

U.S. President Joe Biden recently released a statement regarding the situation.

“The prayers of the entire world are with the people of Ukraine tonight as they suffer an unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces,” the statement said.

President Biden also sent a stern message to Russia, claiming that “the world will hold Russia accountable for what they’ve done.”

Russia is not only feeling the backlash from overseas, but on their own land too.

A Russian TV show called “TV Rain” protested the decision by staging a walk off of the entire staff. The move came after Russia increased the punishment for the spread of “false information” on the internet.

The war has gotten so out of hand that one of Russia’s own allies, Kazakhstan, denied Russia’s request for troops. Kazakhstan also announced it would not recognize the Luhansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic as independent states in response to the invasion.

The effects were felt in the sports world as well as Russia was banned from the Paralympics. Formula One also announced that no Russian drivers are allowed to compete until further notice.

The biggest ban came from FIFA who announced they will suspend all Russian teams in response to the conflict.

“Football is fully united here and in full solidarity with all people affected in Ukraine,” FIFA said.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump released a statement a day after the attack calling the move by Russian President Vladimir Putin genius. He would later backtrack on his statement calling the attack a holocaust and urging Putin to stop the war.

Companies have begun removing their services from the country in response to the attacks.

Disney, Warner Bros. and Sony all announced they would halt movie releases in the country until further notice.

Despite all the sanctions, bans and removals, Russia continues to be aggressive in the fight for Ukraine. Peace talks have fallen through and a potential end to the conflict seems slim as of now.
