The world of chicken is a big place. Chicken is a go to meal for many people because of its good protein and overall great options and taste. But no one seems to ask the question, which one takes the top as the best chicken? How do they affect your health? And what truly gives you the best bang for your buck?
Now to start off, it’s important to know and recognize our contenders and what they have on the table. In one corner we have the chicken nugget, the chicken nugget is well… chicken but its prepared very differently than a lot of other chickens. It is first grounded and prepared which then gets breaded and baked. Because of this, the chicken nugget can be made into famous shapes such as the Iconic dino chicken nugget. But in another corner, we have the chicken tender. The chicken tender is cooked in a more tender area of the chicken usually below the chicken breast, the chicken tender becomes and soft and juicy treat when cooked properly. Both of these have become a monumental part of the food industry and a go to meal and snack for anyone kid or above. In another corner we have grilled chicken. When you think of protein this chicken item comes in mind, it is packed with lean protein, and which is filled to the brim with nutrients and low in calories so it’s a perfect meal for people looking to lose weight but stay full and energized throughout your day. And the final contender I this race is Fried chicken a one-of-a-kind and iconic piece of food, it’s a very tasty and good piece of chicken that many couldn’t resist to take a bite out of. But now that we know our contenders let’s start are elimination rounds.
Let’s start off with the iconic fried chicken. While yes, it’s a very popular and many would say the tastiness chicken out there, it is very high in calories and is a common food related to obesity and overweight gain. The frying process also often involves oils that are high in saturated and trans fats, which raise cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease. Fried chicken because of its calorie count, and bad high trans fats is and will be not considered the best chicken and is eliminated.
Next off Chicken nuggets. A big favorite for kids and adults alike not only for their texture and very good taste, but for their appealing shapes they can come in such as dinosaurs and stars. Despite this, however, chicken nuggets will unfortunately not take the case as the healthiest, with them containing with them often containing lots of fat, sodium and calories. And many nuggets contain lots of processed junk meat that is just nasty to think about. So, while nuggets are a better alternative for fried chicken it will not take the cake as the best for you.
Moving on we have the chicken tender which the results will shock you, with chicken tenders being most of the time relatively high in protein from their lean protein chicken breast, a lot more than the other two options listed, though the breading and frying process adds lots of fat and calories, it still is a much better alternative than the other two listed previously. Thus, marking its spot in a high second place. But what chicken takes the place for the best?
The chicken that takes the win in this race is grilled chicken. Grilled chicken is a lean protein high in protein and better yet includes low saturated fat and calories, making it a good choice for a balanced diet and weight management and better yet a great meal, great for staying fit and full for the long term. Grilled chicken is also very easy and simple to prepare, making it easily one of the cheapest and most assessable chicken out there.
In conclusion, while all chicken out there has its place in the world, Grilled chicken takes the place on top for not only being the best for you but also the best bang for your buck for a great and filling meal many would myself included would recommend to anyone.
