Typical teenagers turn to their phones in class; I turn to books. After finishing my work I grab a book. In the car? grab a book. Laying in my bed? grab a book. The world ending I’ll grab a book. As a reader, I try to read as many books as I can every year, specifically romance books. Although sometimes you just get stuck in a reading slump and can’t find a good book to pick up. Here are some of my top romance books you need to read when you’re stuck in a reading slump.
1. Picking Daisies on Sunday by Liana Cincotti
It’s a perfect little romance read and fast paced. From childhood friends to strangers to friends to lovers we follow the journey of the two main characters trying to reconnect with their unspoken feelings towards each other. They became friends in high school, but then something happened and they stopped being so close. Years later they reunite and the familiar sparts start to arise once again.
2. The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L Walter
This is “The” summer book to read under the sunny weather, on the beach, by the pool while tanning, doesn’t matter it has all the summer vibes. It’s about Meredith Fox who returns to Martha’s Vineyard after the loss of her sister Claire. The family reunites for her cousins wedding and play their annual game of Assassin. Everyone against everybody except when you decide to make an allegiance with a certain groomsmen. Losing the game losing your heart anything is at risk during this game of assassin.
3. Love and Other Words by Chirstina Lauren
This is a sweet childhood friends to lovers with flashbacks of the past as we continue in the present day. Macy is working hard in life and a future wife to be. As her day goes she sees her childhood friends, her first love, Elliot. They reunite and catch up, but the feelings from a night many years ago still linger.
4. Betting on You by Lynn Painter
Once meeting in a plane many years ago, Bailey thought that was the last time she’d see Charlie. Who would have said her new coworker at her new job would be the same person? Trying to somehow get along the two start to slowly become friends maybe into more. This is perfect for those who want more of better than the movies type of book style.
5. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
If you’re looking for a fast paced book series to read this is the summer series to read. After you finish the book I would recommend watching the show of it on Prime. Isabelle has always loved spending summer on Cousin’s beach. Everything magical and wonderful always began in the summer. She has spent all her summers with her mother’s best friend’s two boys: the youngest Jeremiah and the oldest Conrad Fisher. This summer everything changes as she gets stuck in this love triangle between these two brothers.
